Surreal dream scene, cinematic and atmospheric, digital art: A futuristic convention scene featuring a diverse group of well-dressed humans, fly people with delicate wings, and insectoid superheroes standing in a long line outside a grand arena, with a gigantic French basketball player in a #30 jersey entering in the background, while a small group wearing matching T-shirts poses for photos with fly people and human babies in diapers under warm, late afternoon lighting.

Fly people deals

Working in a land of shapeshifters I’m on a team making contracts and most recently trying to close a deal with fly people. Most here are either flys, insects, or superheroes. But I soon find out that they won’t sign an agreement with us because they think we’re immmormal to their culture. The fly people are not as fun as the previous shifters. No point in wasting time it was late Friday afternoon Renee jokes she’ll fake an injury and sue for damages We go out for dinner - note: the fly people don’t eat bread 🍞 it’s forbidden I stay behind to discuss childcare options while working across multiple planets with a female coworker I see a gigantic Frenchman wearing a #30 basketball jersey walking into the back of an arena and joke he should play basketball There’s a long single file line of well dressed people and creatures in front of the convention room we were going to. Me and the family skip the line and approach the desk to ask what’s going on. The volunteer hands us T-shirts to wear and we put them on to step just to the right of the table to take group pictures with some fly people and human babies with diapers that needed to be changed.

This dream presents a rich tapestry of symbolic elements and emotional undertones centered around themes of belonging, cultural difference, and collaboration. The land of shapeshifters suggests a world in flux, where identity and adaptation are key. Working with diverse beings—flies, insects, superheroes—might reflect a situation or environment where you encounter very different perspectives or ways of being, and where flexibility in understanding others is important. The “fly people” refusing to sign agreements due to cultural differences highlights feelings about acceptance, trust, and perhaps the challenge of bridging gaps between distinct communities or belief systems. Their more serious or constrained nature compared to the previous shapeshifters might evoke a sense of rigidity or formality that contrasts with earlier experiences. The detail that they do not eat bread—a common symbol of sustenance and sharing—could symbolize boundaries around what is permissible or values that differ greatly from your own. The lighthearted moment with Renee joking about faking an injury injects humor and perhaps a subtle commentary on frustration or coping strategies within challenging negotiations or relationships. Discussing childcare while working across planets introduces themes of nurturing and responsibility amidst complexity or distance—juggling personal care and professional demands, or maintaining connections despite separation. The gigantic Frenchman in a basketball jersey entering an arena might represent unexpected encounters or larger-than-life influences in your environment, with a hint of playfulness or the significance of teamwork. Skipping the line with your family and receiving T-shirts to take group photos alongside fly people and babies points to issues of inclusion and identity. Wearing the T-shirts could symbolize adopting a shared identity or making a statement of unity despite initial differences. The presence of babies needing care brings forward themes of vulnerability, new beginnings, or the need for attention and nurturing within a collective. Overall, this dream weaves together feelings about navigating complex social dynamics, embracing diverse identities, balancing personal and communal responsibilities, and finding ways to connect across divides. It acknowledges both the difficulties and the humor that can arise in these processes, inviting reflection on how you engage with difference and belonging in your waking life.
