The One Where I Double Up on Everything
I’m at what’s supposed to be Aunt Marie’s (it’s actually Aunt Rosie’s old place, but upstairs). I go into the kitchen and see a thank you note I sent her hanging on the fridge. I realize my letters just look like light brown polka dots and suddenly understand why people sometimes struggle to read my handwriting. I say something about it to my mom, and then look on the back to find that I’ve made very childish drawings of people. I find it sweet that Aunt Marie keeps this note up … I’m at my parents’ house with two small puppies — a black and white one and a white one with super blue eyes — when I remember that I’m apparently fostering them with the intention of adopting them. My dad sees the black one where Penny’s cage normally is in the front room and says, “Whose are these?” I walk in with the white puppy and say that they’re mine. He’s clearly taken with them but shocked to see that I’ve decided to get two more dogs. I then walk into the living room and see my mom and Renee holding a set of boy-girl twins — not Elliott and Audrey — that I’ve also decided to adopt. I think about how I’ll probably name them Jack and Lucy (the other names I considered). I think about how this means I’ll have two sets of twins and two sets of dogs from the same litter. My dad eventually shows me a corner of the house — in the front room where the ceiling is peeling — where he apparently wants me to create some kind of birthday display of all my family members. I’m very confused … I’m watching Michael Scott interact with Cleen from Inkmaster.
