The old god demands a sacrifice
It started with me walking through a jungle with a group of people I didn't know. We had apparently been walking for days before we came upon some ruins. There was a near constant rumbling that felt like aftershocks. The ruins were odd, instead of stone and looking ancient. It was metal and had a futuristic feel to it. We travel through the ruins, the inside being a mix of metal and cave like, trying to decipher the stuff on the walls. The leader is telling us we are looking for a worm. we are all confused but start looking anyways. Any time somebody brought him a worm, he would only say not big enough. We reach the other side and there's a large pit in the ground and the metal of the ruins extends out over it. It looks like it goes on forever. On the other side of the pit is a waterfall that just turns to mist before it even reaches the black abyss at the bottom. the occasional gust of wind comming from below. The rumbling was stronger and I almost fell into the pit. Barely catching myself on the edge as somebody else helped pull me up. I looked back and into the pit. And there were two blue shimmery balls at the bottom. There were moving and looked like they were getting bigger. And the wind was getting stronger. The smell was so bad multiple people were getting sick in the bushes near by. The lead of the team was yelling and ranting about the true god, the old one. How we are not worth of its presence. That the old one demands more sacrifices. And asking who is going to volunteer. I look back as I realize those are eyes. I squint and can see the vague shape of somthing more. The guy next to me whisper. "Not a worm. It's a W-y-r-m. What have we done?" The lead tried to get a girl from the group and pull her over to the edge. We ran to help her, and at some point the lead was pushed over the edge. As he fell, the thing in the pit got closer. And opened its mouth. It had an angular face, and the mouth was huge. It opened so wide it took up most of the cave. We could barely see the lead fall into the creatures mouth. It retreated back into the darkness. Making a sound almost like a purr. And after the light from its eyes faded into the darkness. A deep but quiet voice came from the pit, saying that it is pleased for now. We all started freaking out trying to make sense of it all and I woke up.
