Tarot and Tapping

I was at a big government building, crowded and brightly lit. There was some big hearing happening. I was volunteering and stood straight next to a chair persons bench looking over a house of lawyers and legislators. Walls were white and vaulted. Everyone had small desks. There were a couple tiers. There was a lot of bustling about and it was noisy. I went out on the floor (light got slightly dimmer) and on a screen there was a male celebrity that began to give testimony on the matter at hand. I was curious to know what it was all about but he slipped with a “fucking” curse word and the screen immediately went to static. I told an attractive woman next to me “that’s too bad, I curse like a sailor.” She seemed prude and said something ambiguous. Then I was sitting on the hard polished stone floor. Things had change and it wasn’t exactly a government building. I had a new tarot deck I wasn’t entirely familiar with. I went through the cards and came across several that had no face but two backs. I thought it strange and each time I came across one I put it on the bottom of the deck. I thought they were duds but then wondered if they held more significance. I had several tarot books around me now but it was difficult to hold the deck and look these strange cards up at the same time. Then I came across two of these cards that were bent and creased. I was mad because this was a new deck. I felt a little judge by the people around me but I didn’t care and went on. Last I was in a restaurant at a table. It was mostly white with a white tabletop with gold flecks. It was kinda of 60s and authentically old. I was completely alone in the place and knew no one was around. I began listening to old scratchy music in invisible ear buds and began tapping along to it with pens on the table. I began recording my tapping with these invisible ear buds and tapped my own rhythms on the table and a glass. It was fun.

Your dream weaves together vivid scenes that seem rich with symbolic textures and emotional undercurrents. Here’s a thoughtful exploration of some of the imagery and themes that appear: **Large government building and hearing:** This setting can symbolize a structure of order, authority, and complex decision-making. Being a volunteer near influential figures might suggest a sense of participation in, or observation of, systems where rules and judgments are important. The bright light and bustling noise could reflect mental alertness, stimulation, or pressure in situations requiring attention and discernment. **The male celebrity giving testimony, then the screen cutting to static:** The celebrity might represent a public persona or a powerful voice whose words usually carry weight. The sudden interruption caused by the curse word and static could symbolize a disruption in communication or expectations—not everything is going smoothly, and there may be frustration about things being “cut off” or censored. Your casual, somewhat rebellious comment about cursing points to a desire for openness or authenticity, contrasted with societal judgments or prudishness shown by the woman nearby. **Tarot deck with cards having no face but two backs:** Tarot decks often symbolize insight, intuition, and the unknown layers beneath surface appearances. Cards without a face can represent mysteries, hidden potentials, or situations where clarity is lacking. The act of repeatedly moving these cards to the bottom could reflect avoidance or hesitation to face certain uncertainties or truths. Wondering whether they might hold significance hints at curiosity about hidden aspects of yourself or your situation—perhaps parts you don’t fully understand yet. The bent cards evoke disappointment or irritation when expectations (a new deck) aren’t met, highlighting vulnerabilities around control or perfection. Feeling judged by others but choosing to disregard it may symbolize inner strength or a commitment to your own path despite external scrutiny. **Quiet moment in a mostly empty, retro restaurant:** Switching to this scene brings a contrast—a calm, private space that feels nostalgic and authentic. The white and gold tabletop suggests purity and value, while the 60s ambiance could imply connection to the past or timelessness. Listening to scratchy music through invisible earbuds and tapping rhythms shows an intimate engagement with creativity or self-expression. Recording your rhythms might symbolize the desire to capture and honor your unique voice or internal beat. The sense of fun denotes a release or joy found in solitude and personal creativity. Overall, your dream reflects themes of navigating authority and societal expectations, confronting uncertainties or hidden elements in your life, and ultimately finding moments of authentic self-expression and enjoyment. It paints a picture of the balance between external structure and inner spontaneity, alongside a journey of learning to trust and celebrate your own rhythm amid complexity.
