traveling to jupiter's orbit for school

this was the most amazing dream ever and i'm so sad that it wasn't real, like SO sad. i'm a college sophomore, and i just recently declared a physics (astronomy) minor and had an exciting exchange of emails with a professor who i might do research with, and ive been consuming lots of space media + books, so like, space is on the brain. in my dream i was back at school, and i got accepted into a super incredible program with three other students- we were going to space! specifically, we were being sent to Jupiter's orbit. we were meant to do some research there, and then we would return. basically, the dream took place over at least a couple of weeks as we all prepared for our journey. i became really good buddies with one guy, i'm not sure his name, it was something like either alex or jaime (hispanic pronounciation). many times in the dream would just be us somewhere talking about how crazy this assignment was, that we got accepted into it, how we couldnt even comprehend the idea that soon we'll be in space. we uplifted each other about our worries, studied together things like space shuttle piloting, how to take off and land, and also prepping the material for our studies within Jupiter's orbit. Also there was a day when our group decided to go snowboarding and we had lots of fun. (I dont really have many friends in my current department at school, and dont rlly hang out w anyone, so this was a big deal for me. Also it stems from wishful thinking that i Will make close friends in the physics department when i join. shhh i'm still hopeful.) There was one group set to go before us, I think that group was headed to Saturn. Supposedly, this program was very esteemed and practical and safe and never had any issues in its history, which relieved me. I'm typically someone who is TERRIFIED at the thought of traveling into outer space, so to be so assured about it in this dream was a big deal. I was by myself during the final moments of the dream, just at some random passing place on campus, in between classes or meals or whichever. I was just thinking to myself about how incredibly lucky I was, that I was chosen, even though I was new to the department. I thought about my professor, who picked me, and how she seemed to really like me and have a lot of faith in me. Well, I was certain not to let her down! The dream ended with me realizing that us students probably wouldn't be piloting the space shuttle and probably didnt have to worry about anything other than our studies. Lol! I woke up very betrayed that none of it was real.
