Truck China and Coil

I was at a motel parking lot with a big semi truck. I was never really outside though. I came up through a secret compartment in the bottom of the box then entered the cab of the truck through another secret port. Once I was in the cab it it was bright and sunny out. I started the truck and began to drive it away. I was on some covert mission and I drove the truck over some crazy terrain. Next dream, I was listening to a radio and the album Scatology by Coil came on. I have not heard this record in like 25 years but was impressed that I remembered it immediately and the dream became lucid. I woke up for a moment. Next dream I was in a foreign city in a music store. There was a very special type of 6 string guitar like no other Ive ever seen. It was like a mandolin sort of but with a different body and it had pickups. It was blonde wood and shiny silver tuning hardware. I bought it, left it there to do other things in town then came back. The guy in the shop was nice in a white button up shirt. He helped me get the shipping tape of it which became real tough to do. Then there was a young beautiful girl dealing with a ton of flowers. I helped her and an older woman, maybe her mother, get them into a trash container. There was a lot of lavender. The young girl got inside of of the trash container with the flowers to manage them. The trash container was just to transport them. Next dream I was in China with my wife. We were walking outside in a city but the city blocks were massive and everything was so incredibly spread out. Big blocks of unkept grass and weeds with streets full of heavy traffic. The sky was immense. We walked by an apartment complex with a chain link fence around it and there was a disproportionately massive gray horse I could see running around it. I felt transfixed by it and how bizarre it was. Crossing the street with all of the traffic felt dangerous. Many of the cars were white and there was a lot of honking. I lost Kirsten for a while but I called her on her cell phone and was surprised she picked up. The connection was not great and she was hard to understand but there was enough to figure out where she was and we met in a crowded busy market. We had fun shopping for food as it was all bizarre. I was surprised at so many westerners there speaking Chinese and I told Kirsten that I recently saw a video that said Chinese was easy to learn. I studied some of the words they were saying but had no clue what they were. We went through the market and I told Kirsten “I wonder where the breads are” a man overheard me and said that the Chinese don’t eat bread. We looked at tortillas like things and weird soft crackers.

Thank you for sharing these vivid and richly detailed dreams. They seem to weave together themes of exploration, discovery, and navigating unfamiliar spaces—both physical and emotional. Here’s a calm, symbolic reflection on the ideas and feelings that arise from your dream imagery: The truck and secret compartments suggest a journey that begins from hidden or concealed places within yourself. Entering through secret ports and driving over rugged terrain might symbolize engaging with parts of your inner world that are less accessible, and the act of driving implies a sense of agency or control as you navigate complex, perhaps challenging, conditions. The bright and sunny environment once in the cab can evoke an emergence into clarity or awareness after moving through the unknown. The reference to Coil’s album Scatology in the dream, coupled with the lucid moment, may highlight a connection to your past or to creative, transformative energies stored in memory. Music here serves as a bridge between different states of consciousness or periods of your life. The fact that the dream became lucid at this point could symbolize awakening or recognition of a deeper insight. The guitar in the foreign music store stands as a rich symbol of creativity and communication. Its unique construction and the difficulty removing the shipping tape might reflect a process of uncovering or freeing new forms of expression that feel precious but complicated to fully embrace. The white shirt of the shopkeeper suggests clarity and assistance during this creative journey, while the act of buying but leaving the instrument temporarily hints at navigating timing or readiness. Helping the young woman and older woman with the lavender flowers, especially seeing the flower container as a transport rather than trash, conveys themes of caretaking and valuing beauty and growth even in constrained or transitional spaces. Lavender often symbolizes calm, healing, and purity, so your role in this scene might relate to nurturing peace or transformation amid change. Your time in the sprawling, expansive city in China with your wife unfolds a scenario of being in a vast, perhaps overwhelming environment. The massive blocks with overgrown grass and heavy traffic, alongside the immense sky, might echo feelings of disorientation or awe when faced with a world that feels both vast and crowded. The gray horse running behind fences stands out as a powerful symbol of energy, freedom, and perhaps untamed aspects of life that seem separated or contained. Losing your wife and reconnecting by phone in a crowded market, then shopping and encountering language barriers, speaks to navigating differences and the desire for connection amid unfamiliar cultural landscapes. The conversation about bread and different foods symbolizes the process of adjustment and learning when entering new environments—both literal and metaphorical—and the openness to experiencing new ways of nourishment and sustenance. Overall, your dreams weave a narrative of movement through concealed spaces and unfamiliar territories, balanced by moments of connection, creativity, and care. They suggest a journey rich in discovery, adaptation, and the blending of past and present elements—all unfolding under wide skies of possibility.
