My sister’s performance and Marit
I was at some sort of convention. The 12 step fellowship was part of it and there were some people I knew there. My sister was supposed to do some sort of ballet dance in an elaborate costume. I was at the crowded performance space which was on this strange ramp but I discovered my sister and mother weren’t there and some organizer guy said “yeah she blew the call time.” I knew she must have been really upset. Next I was back in San Francisco and went to see a film that I was in when I was a young man. I went to see the film with a woman I was once very in love with, Marit. In the dream she was much more affectionate with me than she ever was irl and was very playful. We watched the film where I was playing percussion music in an ensemble. I wrote and put the piece together with others. It was avant garde and very cool. When we left the theater I got emotional thinking about where I was at during the filming of the movie. Marit asked me what I would tell myself then and I thought about it hard. Would I want to change the course of my life? I cried. “There are a lot of hardships I would have liked to avoid but I love who I have become as a result” was my revelation. Marit touched stroked my back consolingly. We ran into people I used to work with at the Yerba Buena center for the arts and I was thinking about going back to work there. I was terrified of her falling floors down but she was not afraid at all and jumped in a dance like move several times, bending backwards and testing the limits.
