Heritage Center
...I was in a place to look like the county's heritage center. It was a library on the second or third floor. The kids were smaller and they were playing really hard! I had some scissors and young Aurora was snipping away at some fake grass on a display and a real, little butterfly flew up and then fell to the ground because she'd accidentally cut its wing. I picked it up and it floated away again but couldn't fly because most of its wing was gone. A bunch of its powder (way too much!) plumed up into the air. I picked it up again and tried to figure out what to do with the little guy. I must have put him somewhere safe because he wasn't in the dream after that. She still had the scissors out and I grabbed all the scissors and put them away. I chastised her about being dangerous with them. I saw a basket of Easter eggs and I overheard someone mention that it was awful late for Easter. The eggs were really cool because they were small and clear and they might have even been glow-in-the-dark. I also noticed a small nightstand that was being used for kids' toys and I realized I had donated. I wondered if Aaron was okay with it because I'm not sure I told him about it. He's always happy to get rid of stuff, so I wasn't that worried. It was all scratched up anyway...

Your dream seems to weave together themes of care, protection, and the delicate balance between creativity and safety. Being in a heritage center—often a place that preserves history and stories—could symbolize a connection to your roots or a desire to preserve meaningful parts of your past. The setting in a library above, where the children are playing energetically, brings to mind an atmosphere of learning, growth, and innocence. The imagery of young Aurora cutting fake grass, accidentally injuring a real butterfly, speaks to the unintended consequences that sometimes arise during exploration and play. Butterflies often represent transformation and fragility. Your instinct to gently pick up the injured butterfly and keep it safe highlights a nurturing impulse, a wish to protect vulnerable or precious things in life despite setbacks. Scissors in the dream can symbolize cutting away or change, but also danger if left unchecked. Your action of gathering the scissors and putting them away suggests a conscious effort to impose boundaries for safety—perhaps a reflection of wanting to guide or safeguard those around you, especially the young or innocent. The Easter eggs, described as small, clear, and maybe glow-in-the-dark, carry a sense of wonder and surprise, even though it’s "awful late" for Easter. Eggs traditionally symbolize new beginnings or potential. Their unusual qualities in the dream might suggest hidden possibilities or moments of magic that appear unexpectedly, regardless of timing. Finally, the presence of the small nightstand used for toys, which you recall donating, touches on themes of generosity and attachment. Wondering about Aaron’s feelings hints at relational awareness and communication, but also a comfort with letting go of material things that no longer serve a purpose. Overall, this dream gently explores the dynamics between care and curiosity, protection and freedom, and the cycles of holding on and letting go within your environment and relationships.
